Elche Zoo, also known as Rio safari Elche is a fantastic place to take the kids, Elche is famous for its hundreds of palm trees and Rio Safari is located within one of the palm orchards known as the Lion Orchard. Rio Safari specializes in rearing and caring for wild and exotic animals and has almost a hundred different species and nearly 800 animals. The types of animals here include Giraffes, Hippos, Jaguars, Sea Lions, Antelopes, Ostriches, Boa Constrictors, Zebras and Elephants. You can explore the reptiles cave, the temple of the tigers, the crocodile farm and the primates isle and enjoy shows with sea lions, bright parrots and the beautiful elephant. Visitors can also swim with the sea lions, ride ponies, or even sit on the back of the elephant, the park can be explored on foot or by the guided train.

Visitors can bring their own lunch and eat in the pic-nic areas which have a microwave, snack and ice cream bars or alternatively eat at the hamburger bar or self service restaurant. In the summer the aquatic park can also be enjoyed without any extra charge, kids can have fun on the trampolines and a visit to the karting circuit is great fun for all the family.
